Ordering Custom Team Jerseys With Names And Numbers: What To Lock Before Bulk

Every November, teamwear buyers hit the same snag: the jersey design is approved, then the roster changes. A player joins late, or a name comes back misspelled. We're Shaoxing SA K Apparel Co., Ltd., a manufacturer in Shaoxing, Zhejiang since 2017, and names and numbers are where team orders slip most. Here's what we'd ask any supplier before bulk.

What happens if a name is spelled wrong?

Ask this first, and listen for "when", not "if". Transfer printing runs on our own floor, so a roster fix before cutting costs a reprint sheet. After sewing, it costs more. Whoever you work with should tell you where that line sits, in writing, before you approve anything.

Who keeps the roster straight?

Email threads lose players. We ask for one spreadsheet: name, number, size, per player, locked at sample approval. Digital printing lets us proof the actual font and number layout on fabric before bulk, so you sign off on a printed panel instead of a screen mockup. A crest that reads fine on a laptop can fall apart at player size.

What do you order for a squad that changes?

Two spare jerseys in the most common size usually cover a late signup cheaper than a reorder does. Count them into the first order, because one extra run of a single jersey isn't a thing most factories will schedule.

We dropship single pieces, too, for brands that don't hold stock. Samples run 7 to 10 days and bulk 15 to 21, though when that clock starts depends on your fabric, so we confirm it in writing. We quote on FOB, EXW, CIF or DDP terms.

So before you sign anything, ask your supplier how they spell-check a roster.

We take the sheet and read it twice.
